Waterglass / Steelwaters

WATERGLASS – Diverted a river of refuse to create the river of glass in 1984, a commentary on magical encounters, repurposing, and the endless river of waste. Each installation is a site-specific commentary on the space, bringing the wilds of nature into the confines or cages of architecture—a kind of self-portrait. They are animated by light and the movement of the viewers.

A more permanent and durable version of the water glass series, The title STEELWATERS refers to quiet power implied by the well known phrase “still waters run deep.” STEELWATERS can take any form that water takes, any scale, even a quiet amorphous flat pool, or mixed with rocks creating a reflective silent stream.
